German hyphenate artist S Meentzen aka Simi Ninati (1970) looks back on more than 30 years of creative work. Taking pictures was always part of her artistic practise, keeping a diary of images. Her works draw from a deep appreciation and love for nature. Growing up in landscapes painted by C D Friedrich informs her neo romantic views. SimiĀ“s photographs are about emotions, imperfection, natural transitions and visions. For her, it's not about technology and achieving a perfect image, but to view the world like a poet, with its sometimes ambivalent, sometimes erratic nuances... to capture the fleeting moment of a timeless grace.
