As an independent artist, I look back on more than 30 years of creative work. I’ve been taking photographs since I was a teenager. Now for the first time, I present my bnw photographs in public. My images are about emotions, imperfection, the fleeting moment, transitions, visions. I sense the impermanence of all living beings. For me, it's not about technology and achieving a perfect image, but to view the world like a poet, with its sometimes ambivalent, sometimes erratic nuances.
I have a deep appreciation and love for nature. Black romanticism, inspired by C D Friedrich and other artists of the past…I grew up with that, with the landscapes around Dresden, the chalk cliffs on Rügen... the paintings in the local museum.
