Art prints by hyphenate artist S Meentzen aka Simi Ninati (born 1970). Taking pictures was always part of Ninati's artistic practice. She started out teaching herself how to develop bnw photographs growing up in East Germany in the 80s. Influenced by romantic artist C.D. Friedrich, her images are about emotions, imperfection, natural transitions and mysterious visions. For her, it's not about technology and achieving a perfect image, but to view the world like a poet, with its sometimes ambivalent, sometimes erratic nuances... to capture the fleeting moment of a timeless grace. ∞
